Congratulations! You have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The year is 2300; more than three hundred years after the time of Harry Potter and his friends. Voldemort fell, once and for all, in 1997, and the world was at peace, a balance between good and evil finally having been achieved. There was no more need for war; Harry Potter was a hero, and though most wizards and witches were skeptical at first, it became clear that the terror truly was at an end. With the only people well and truly loyal to the Dark Lord dead, such as Bellatrix Lestrange, the others submitted to their time in prison, in their own way relieved that the terror was over at last--Voldemort had been nearly as harsh to his supporters as his enemies.

The Order of the Phoenix was no longer needed; it seemed there were no further dark wizards out there who dared dream of attempting to fill the shoes Voldemort had left behind. It's members remained on full alert, however, never doubting for a second that somewhere, some how, sometime, there would be need of an organization such as the Order. None of them would live to see it; they all died of old age long, long ago.

Hogwarts has remained open these past many centuries, and is, for the most part, unchanged. Slytherins and Gryffindors still hate each other, for the most part; Slytherins still look down on those of other houses, thinking themselves the best. No matter that the last truly pure blood family has been gone for half a century or more, the Malfoy line dying out because there came a generation where the only Malfoy left was female. Breeding into the Genschoreck clan, more pure than many other familes, yet still undeniably half-blooded, the last of the pureblood wizards has been dead a long time. Only a few surnames from that time have survived, Potter and Lupin chief among them, but the heritage means little, anymore. Almost everyone living in Wizarding Britain has been lulled into a foolish, false sense of security, believing that the peace would last forever.

There have been rumors of odd disappearances, strange hate crimes with no discernible pattern, muggles turning up dead in the oddest of places... the Ministry, grown fat and lazy like a partridge left unhunted for far too long, has no idea what to make of these disturbing occurrences. A few people who still remember the old stories are beginning to worry that a new Dark Lord is rising, but no one wants to believe it. What will the wizarding world, at total peace for so long, do if the theories of a new dark lord are true? What happens when the peace and tranquility of three hundred years is shattered? Will anyone be able to defend themselves from what is brewing on the horizon?

At Hogwarts, it seems to only person who cares about these occurrences is the headmistress; the students are all too rolled up and occupied by the drama of wizarding high school. So what happens when Slytherins begin capering about, crude drawings of the Dark Mark on their arms? Who can say what it means?

Eyes must look to the future, but hearts must remember the past, if the wizarding world is going to survive an earth shattering war for the third time.
